A little decalstuck on 200 trays of chicken in the stalls of many supermarkets from Cherbourg-en-Cotentin (Manche).

Counter-advertising

Above, it is annotated the guarantee of a product “ 100% animal suffering.”

The goal is that the Le Gaulois brand is committed to banning the worst breeding practices. They need to stop using super fast growing strains of chicken. And reduce the density of animals per m2. There are currently 20 per m2… To try to figure it out, you have to say that this represents one chicken per A4 sheet.

The aim of this operation counter-advertising is to alert the potential customers on the fact that three quarters of broilers raised by the LDC group would come from these ultra-rapidly growing strains.

In February 2024, the courts ordered the association of animal rights to cease its action.

Commitments

For two years, L214 has been engaged on the subject so that the LDC group commits to the criteria ofEuropean Chicken Commitmentthat a hundred agri-food companies are committed to adopting, including stakeholders in the mass distribution.

It is not the supermarkets that we are visiting this Saturday that we are questioning, since they themselves have signed this charter.

The Cherbourg branch of the association claims around tenactive members.
