Marie-Madeleine and Maurice Endelin were impatiently waiting to celebrate their 60 years of marriage.

The event took place on Saturday April 20, 2024 to the city ​​hall of Ozeville (Manche). THE couple talking about it since month of January. With the complicity of their childrenthis day took place in the presence of the entire familyin joy.

Married April 18, 1964

At the end of the morning, everyone arrived at the town hall, where Jean-Louis Cauvin, the mayor, was waiting for them. “Since I have been mayor, 2001this is the first time that I celebrate diamond wedding. I am very moved by it,” said Jean-Louis Cauvin.

The mayor retraced the couple’s journey. Marie-Madeleine was born on July 17, 1944 in Écausseville, where her parents Jeanne and Clément Lemière lived there. They had a farm, Marie-Madeleine is the last of eight children. Maurice was born in Saint-Marcouf-de-l’Isle on February 8, 1937 on the Pierreville farm where his parents were farmers. Maurice has two sisters.

Marie-Madeleine and Maurice met at the ball on July 13, 1963 in Montebourg. Maurice went to see Marie-Madeleine with his Peugeot 403 twice a week.

their marriage, on April 18, 1964 celebrated in Écausseville, Marie-Madeleine settled with Maurice on the Pierreville farm in Saint-Marcouf-de-l’Isle where they were farmers until their retirementin 1993. The farm is still in the family since their son Benoit took over.

A big family

The couple has three children – Catherine, Benoit and Régine – eight grandchildren – Jérôme, Rémi, Élise, Antoine, Thibault, Paul, Océane, Éloïse – as well as three great-grandchildren, Mathis, Mia and Elyo.

Upon their retirement, Marie-Madeleine and Maurice settled in the town of Ozeville.

Their granddaughter Océane, who lives in Ozeville, right next to her grandparents, watches over them a lot. They put a lot of energy into beautifying and maintaining their house, their garden, the exterior as well as possible and taking care of their chickens. Their home is a real haven of peace and generosity for all those who cross the threshold of their home. They are proof by two that concession plus affection equals love that shines like a diamond in their eyes and in their hearts. Congratulations on this journey and your 60 years of marriage.
