The former ambassador of Guatemala to Morocco, Erick Estuardo Escobedo Ayala, was decorated with the Wissam Alaouite of the order of Commander, which was awarded to him by His Majesty King Mohammed VI.

The Royal Decoration was presented to Mr. Escobedo Ayala by the Moroccan Ambassador to Guatemala, Tarik Louajri, during a ceremony organized Thursday at the Kingdom’s residence in Guatemala , in the presence of political and diplomatic figures including the director General of Bilateral Relations at the Guatemalan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lynsay Hernández de Muñoz.

According to a press release from the diplomatic representation of Morocco in Guatemala, Mr. Louajri highlighted on this occasion the efforts made by Mr. Escobedo Ayala throughout his mission to the Kingdom in favor of strengthening friendly relations between the two country, stressing that these relationships are based in particular on fruitful cooperation and mutual respect.

For his part, Mr. Escobedo Ayala expressed his warm thanks and deep gratitude to His Majesty King Mohammed VI, saying he was “very honored” by this high Royal distinction that the Sovereign was kind enough to grant him at the end of his mission in Morocco.

The Guatemalan diplomat also reaffirmed his country’s support for the Kingdom’s national issues, led by the issue of the Moroccan Sahara, welcoming to this end the dynamic of all-out development experienced by the southern provinces under the leadership of His Majesty the King.

In this regard, he reiterated Guatemala’s support for the territorial integrity and national sovereignty of Morocco, recalling the opening by his country of a consulate general in the city of Dakhla and the constant support for the position of Kingdom in international forums to find a solution to this artificial conflict.
