A mother expresses her distress. His daughter, almost 8 years old, denounced the touching she allegedly suffered from her father. The child has already been interviewed several times by the juvenile brigade.

For 14 months, the child has had almost no contact with his father, even if the latter’s visitation and accommodation rights are maintained.

My daughter has been denouncing serious things against her father for almost 2 years. At 6 years old she denounced, at 7 years old she denounced, and she will continue to denounce and we do not hear her. At first she loved him because she didn’t understand, she was 6 years old, she had just had them, today she hates him.

If we did not arrest him, if we did not put protective measures in place, we maintain his visitation and accommodation rights, that means he is innocent. Today he still has visiting rights. I’m trying to protect my daughter, especially since she doesn’t want to go.

An investigation into the facts denounced by the child would be in the hands of the Saint-Benoît gendarmerie.

The father would have filed a complaint against the mother. She refuses to entrust him with her daughter.

He filed a complaint for non-representation of a child. There, I am being questioned for failure to represent a child. I am told that as long as he is presumed innocent, you must force your child to go with his father. My daughter doesn’t want to go with her father. Everyone is passing the buck, all the jurisdictions, and I am calling on the support of media associations to denounce, I want us to take into account what my daughter says, that we protect her, that there have a protective measure.

This mother is supported by associations, including the Union of Reunion Women, which supports her in her fight.

Who will stop him from doing it again? While we wait for justice to do its work, we risk seeing a child handed over by force to this man.

Évelyne Corbière, president of the UFR

Next Tuesday, April 30, the child should be heard before the children’s judge in Saint-Pierre.
