Like every summer, for a month, Carcassonne will live to the rhythm of music. The festival returns for a new edition but also for the twentieth anniversary of OFF. This Thursday, April 25, at the Palais des Congrès, the entire program was revealed and will run from June 28 to July 31. And the mayor of the Aude city, Gérard Larrat, welcomed the ten concerts already sold out in the heart of the medieval city. “This year, we will be a huge success. It is important to remember that it is a self-financing event unlike other festivals.”

The chief magistrate of Carcassonne also thanked the director of the festival, Pascal Dupont: “We succeeded and I thank him for everything that was done”, he clarified. Following the first speeches, the already known program of the IN festival was presented in a short video announcing each of the artists expected for this new edition which will take on decidedly rock accents. Next, it was the OFF that was highlighted.

A project driven by the current councilor of the town and which he promoted: “It was above all a political choice so that everyone could have access to the festival.” A long-term effort which has now been confirmed, offering more than 70 free shows to festival-goers out of the hundred offered during this festive month.

It was then the culture assistant, Annie Doutres, who spoke to the public who came to attend this event presentation. “Let us be proud of what contributes to the emancipation of Carcassonne.” And to add: “Each edition is an opportunity to remind people that this is an unmissable event.”
