“The right price”, real estate version. The owner of the estate “Le Richmond”, a villa on the banks of the Meuse which previously belonged to the former Prime Minister and Secretary General of NATO Paul-Henri Spaak, will put his property up for sale in a rather original way .

Valère Duchenne, with his wife, is organizing a competition from this Wednesday, April 24, via the platform www.1000Or.com. Participation costs 10 euros and candidates must estimate the exact price of the lot including the residence and the business of five guest houses.

900 m² of living space

It is already indicated on the site that the value is estimated at more than 1.5 million euros. The building dates from 1710 and includes four separate dwellings, 900m² of living space as well as a 67-acre park with swimming pool. The organizers promise a life of an incomer to the future buyer, with a return of 6,600 euros per month.

The organizer himself claims not to know the exact value of his property and will ask two experts to rule and protect the figure under seal. “We will discover the value at the end of the competition, which will last three months” he explains in one of the many videos posted on the site. “Organizing this game was an obstacle course because it has never been done before, it’s unique. We had to be in order with the Belgian administration, the authorizations, the national lottery”.

Mr. Duchenne also reserves the right to withdraw the property from sale, in the event that the receipts from the tickets sold do not satisfy him. To redirect the participants, a second competition is organized in parallel, with a convertible from the BMW brand as a prize.
