Earth Day: Guadeloupe Pôle Caraibes offsets its carbon footprint by creating a mangrove nursery
Descriptive text here

For several months, the Guadeloupe Pôle Caraibes airport company carried out major repair work on the runway. This construction site inevitably generated significant pollution. To offset this carbon footprint, the board decided to create a nursery in the heart of the neighboring swamp forest, as part of a partnership with the National Park. The date chosen for this action is ideal: today is Earth Day.

The Guadeloupe Pôle Caraibes airport company (SAGPC) has completed its project to renature the area’s swamp forest; trees were planted in Belle-Plaine, in , this Monday, April 22, 2024. This operation is part of Earth Day, an event which aims to reduce human impacts on the environment.

It is also the subject of an agreement signed by the SAGPC board of directors and the Guadeloupe National Park (PNG), to compensate for carbon emissions linked to the work carried out to renovate the track.

Our support for the National Park constitutes the cornerstone of our approach to protecting our immediate environment. This great operation on Earth Day will aim to raise awareness among our employees in a concrete way and remind them of the importance of preserving a particular environment. at the land-sea interface.
