Very early on Thursday, September 5, 2024, a 38-year-old man succumbed to stab wounds on Place Rallier du Baty in the hyper center of Rennes (Ille-et-Vilaine). On Sunday, September 15, a 20-year-old man was arrested by the police. His DNA was found on the victim. He was presented to the public prosecutor on Tuesday, September 17.

The information was confirmed by Frédéric Teiller, the public prosecutor of Rennes (Ille-et-Vilaine). “On Sunday, September 15, at the end of the day, a man in his twenties was arrested. He admitted to having fought with the victim and stabbing him. He was identified by his DNA.”
