The City of the Accordion in Tulle is offering a “road trip” for the European Heritage Days

The European Heritage Days are coming for the first time, Saturday and Sunday, to the Cité de l’accordéon in Tulle. An opportunity to discover the museum in a different way, with a whole program of free activities.

The Cité de l’accordéon et des patrimoines in Tulle will open its doors free of charge this weekend for its first participation in the European Heritage Days. “An important time for meeting the public and free of charge on the theme of connections, itineraries and travel,” explains Karine Lhomme, director of the structure.

A passport to see the City differently

For this first edition, the museum has concocted a motionless journey by offering a roadtrip through the three collection routes (accordions, Tulle point and Manufacture d’armes). “Mediators will be present at certain locations to offer a visit in five stops. A passport will be given to visitors beforehand for this trip.” The program, in particular, will set sail for the Pacific, to show the presence of the accordion elsewhere in the world. Closer to home, the links that the instrument has woven between Auvergne and will be retraced, as well as the presence of the “French touch” in the United States.

A series of exhibitions proposed at the Tulle court to take another look at justice

The public will also be invited to embark on a journey to the American continent through the history of the “Manu” and its economic links across the Atlantic.
On Saturday and Sunday, lacemakers will also be present in the afternoons to give demonstrations of Tulle stitch.
Finally, on Sunday at 4 p.m., the Le Grand Atelier company will present its creation Un autre bal. Or the meeting of contemporary dance with traditional music.
