Murder in Grande-Synthe: Philippe was trapped via a dating application

According to the first elements of the police investigations, the two teenagers mounted a sort of ambush, pretending to be a young girl on a dating website. They therefore set up a meeting with Philippe, the victim, in the town center of Grande-Synthe, in the metropolitan area. They are also suspected of having set a similar trap a few days earlier for another man.

Philippe, aged 22, was discovered unconscious Tuesday evening, with “several traces of blows, particularly on the face”according to the Dunkirk public prosecutor’s office, which opened an investigation into “organized gang murder”. He was taken to hospital with a life-threatening condition, before dying from his injuries.

The custody ofa minor aged 14 arrested Wednesday morning was extended and a second arrest ofa minor aged 15 took place on Wednesday during the day, as part of the investigation entrusted to the criminal brigade of the judicial police.

Investigators who are still looking for other people: “the acts could have been committed by at least three individualsthe Dunkirk public prosecutor’s office indicated on Wednesday.

A white walk

Tomorrow, Friday, from 11 a.m., a white march in tribute to Philippe, who worked in a leisure center in Grande-Synthe, will take place from the Noordover high school. A march supported and supervised by the town hall. The procession will go to the scene of the tragedy before reaching the Municipal House, where a minute of silence will be observed.
