This Thursday evening, Élisabeth Degryse, head of the Les Engagés list for the Chamber in Brussels, was the guest of the “Petit Théâtre de Vebros” on LN24.

Asked about Belgium’s deficit, Élisabeth Degryse explained that the Engagés have in their program “a tax reform which allows us to have a global vision of taxation, which is not at all sectioned, and which will be a way of bringing resources into the state coffers”.

The candidate then went on to say that she would be ready “to do this with all those who are up for a truly ambitious project,” in the case of a government coalition. Even with the PTB? “No because I think they will never come to power, but if they do, we will see the program we can build together. But they claim such a strong break that we are not sure that it can bring us anything”, replied Élisabeth Degryse. “It is the strength of the center to be able to work with everyone”.

An outing which clearly did not please the party leader. Maxime Prévot responded directly to Elisabeth Degryse on X (former Twitter). “There will never be anything to build with the PTB. Our statutes explicitly reject any possibility of alliance with the extreme left. No doubts to be had in this regard”he wrote.
