The American “HPI” adaptation renewed for a second season

The success of the American remake of the HPI series is confirmed: renamed High Potential in the United States, this police soap opera full of humor will be storing for a second season, announced the ABC channel.

This series, which features a gifted cleaning lady recruited as a consultant by the police, made a real audience card in . HPI has become a phenomenon as soon as it is launched in 2021. Its episodes sometimes brought together more than 10 million spectators, unheard of since 2005, when television was not suffering from competition from streaming platforms.

And now in the United States the series has also found its audience. Since its launch last September, the High Potential pilot episode has been seen by “30 million viewers”, all broadcast supports combined, according to an ABC statement.

The series is broadcast on Tuesday evening on the American channel and on the Hulu streaming platform.

In the American adaptation, the intrigue is transposed from to Los Angeles. Instead of Morgane Alvaro, an extravagant cleaning lady with an IQ of 160 embodied by Audrey Fleurot, we follow Morgan Giriroy, another single mother played by Kaitlin Olson. Before its launch, the scriptwriter Todd Harthan had confided being convinced that the series had “the potential to reach a huge audience”.

In addition to this American adaptation, the original HPI series has also exported in a hundred countries outside of France.
