The Roanne public was invited to a masterful work this Wednesday, January 22 at the Scarabée. Combining the style and tradition of Russian training with the technical prowess of the English school, the young British Festival Ballet company is one of the most successful today.
On stage, the artists showed that this ballet in two acts, created in 1892, has lost none of its poetry. It is based on the music of Tchaikovsky and a choreography by Marius Petipa, who also wrote the libretto based on a story by Hoffmann.
Around thirty dancers on stage
Everyone was able to follow the story of Clara who, on Christmas Eve, receives the Nutcracker, a doll representing a soldier with whom she will experience adventures that will help her grow.
On stage, around thirty dancers showed the extent of their talent, accompanied live by the philharmonic orchestra.
