Reading Nights take place throughout France. Example in Vaucluse: the Inguimbertine library museum offers a romantic journey to the heart of Petrarch’s sonnets in Carpentras. Tennis fans will be able to thrill to the rhythm of ball exchanges at the Open d’Occitanie in Montpellier. Finally, gourmets will find what they are looking for in Perpignan with an exhibition dedicated to Catalan flavors and particularly chocolate.

Lovers of literature and music will find what they are looking for in Carpentras. The Inguimbertine Library-Museum is organizing a special evening, as part of the Nights of Reading, dedicated to the passionate love of Petrarch. As Jean-Marie Torrandell, director of the library, explains, “We created a musical reading evening with different guest artists. An evening a bit in the dark, with subdued lights, lights, atmospheres, very red lights, because we are a bit on the theme of love, indeed.» Spectators will be able to discover the Italian poet’s sonnets performed by actors, a lyric singer, young dancers, all interspersed with musical compositions.
