La Traverse, the winning project to bring to life the third place on the left bank of the port in Vannes, announced its desire, during the seven-year occupancy lease, to bring out culture in all its forms in the heart of the city by offering a summary of the best of DéDalE and the Brief. The Cinscreen association team joined the project. “It’s an opportunity to have additional projection space for what already exists. We work with Cinéville, but there are programs that we cannot carry out there, around image education for example, and which will be possible with La Traverse”, rejoices the director of Cinscreen, Olivier Calonnec .
“A magnificent playground”
“By working hand in hand, we imagine new things on the cinema side. For our association, which has existed for 25 years in Vannes, having a place in the heart of the city that can accommodate the public is a fantastic playground. It is an opportunity for us to imagine new programs, complementary to what we already do and what exists in Vannes: hybrid proposals mixing a taste for cinema and festivities, painting, sculpture, theater or even science. The place is co-constructed day after day and we imagine modular spaces allowing original and exciting creations. New cultural crossings, which we hope will be more frequent and even more fertile, thanks to shared spaces and tools. And for a place to be alive, it must be inhabited! This is why our association will soon set up its employees’ offices at 8, rue du Commerce. A way to strengthen the human links between our teams on a daily basis to imagine together the programs for the start of the school year in September,” comment director Olivier Calonnec and the entire Cinscreen team. Remember that La Traverse will open, in part, at the end of April and beginning of May.
