It is the essential address for partying in Valves (Morbihan): Les Valseuses. Two brothers run this night bar. Encounter.

An intergenerational bar

In 2010, Les Valseuses replaced the Baromètre in rue Porte Poterne. In April 2019THE Bourgault brothers take over the reins of the establishment.

“We already had establishments in Côtes-d’Armor (tapas bar in Lannion, restaurant in Saint-Quay-Portrieux and a night bar in Saint-Brieuc). Here, it corresponded to our DNA: a family and friendly bar,” says Romain, who adds a word about the atmosphere:

We are looking for a very broad audience. This involves our employees (9 servers at the bar and 2 security guards) who bring their personal touch.

The first months were very good. We had barely made it a year and we had to close for the first confinement of 2020. We got back on track.

A wide choice of drinks at the bar

The bar offers 17 beer references. We can cite Domani’s Theixois as well as the Breton beers Britt and Saint-Erwann.

“We try to have an offer that is different from other bars. And it’s also through affinity with the brewer,” reveals Romain Bourgault.

On the menu, there are 7 to 8 wine references and around ten cocktails.

If you want to have a snack, you have to go to the RDV (resto des Valseuses, ex Zizzie) across the street.

Sports matches, darts and concerts

In the establishment, an intergenerational audience meets there. In addition to the offer at the bar, customers can play dartsattend the sports meetings (football, rugby, Formula 1, etc.) on the many televisions or attend concerts.

« There is a program two concerts per week. Rock, jazz, etc. “, reveals Romain Bourgault who registered his bar in the Collectif Culture Bar-Bars.

Label Night

The establishment refers to the film The Valseuses by Bertrand Blier. A sulfurous film. The Vannes bar takes part in the program of Label Night prevention.

The establishment is committed to preventing risks to which customers may be exposed. “The objective is to ensure that everyone is their own actor in their health,” explains Olivier Coudin, departmental director of the Regional Health Agency (ARS), at the end of December 2024. Thus, customers can find free of charge at the counter of the female and male condoms, breathalyzer (probationary and classic license), earplugs, free drinking water and posters to combat gender-based and sexual violence.

VTC numbers can be given if necessary.

What ambitions for the establishment?

The co-managers are in discussions with the architect of Bâtiments de (ABF) to develop a roof terrace below the Ramparts. “It’s a long-term project. We hope that it will be accessible in 2026,” indicate the two brothers.

Until then, beer will flow under the bridges of the Marle.

Practical. Hours: 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. Tuesday to Sunday. The night bar closes at 2 a.m., but stops serving at 1:30 a.m. Bar closed on Mondays. Interview carried out at the end of December 2024.
