Launched by 3 Scènes, the second autonomous group of spectators is made up of members of the Rock’in Jazz school of the Léo-Lagrange club. With the support of Gaël Leveugle from Ultima Necat, the objective is to enrich oneself culturally while questioning oneself, over the course of six shows.
Debriefing a show in the smallest details on a Sunday morning, in sub-zero temperatures, is the life that the fifteen members of the Autonomous Spectator Group (GAS) have decided to lead. And it was at the Léo-Lagrange club that it happened, Sunday January 19.
Led by 3 Scènes, in partnership with the company Ultima Necat, the system was relaunched this year. “It is a social and civic tool which allows us to support the public in the exploration of new artistic forms, to question social issues and to remind us of the legitimacy of everyone’s words,” summarizes Sarah Valent, responsible for of cultural mediation for the 3 Scènes. The action is also part of the 100% Artistic and Cultural Education (EAC) labeling of the Greater Saint-Dizier Agglomeration.
Opening
For this second promotion, it was towards the Léo-Lagrange club that all eyes were turned. And in this case, the Rock’in Jazz dance school: “The proposal was suggested to all the members, the volunteers then responded”, specifies Isabelle Delaunoy, vice-president of the club. The profiles are very varied, mixed, ranging from students to young retirees.
Concretely, until the end of May, participants attend six shows with body expression as a common thread. At the Manège de Reims, at the ACB in Bar-le-Duc, at Les Fuseaux in Saint-Dizier… The very first meeting took place the day before, Saturday January 18, at the Nouveau relax in Chaumont (read on page 15 ). Each performance is followed by a brunch workshop to deepen what everyone saw, felt, liked or not, all with the support of Gaël Leveugle, director and actor, co-creator of the company Ultima Necat. The only difference with the first edition of the GAS is that the volunteers will not do programming.
Questions
This Sunday morning, the speeches will continue for two hours to return to the evening of the day before, entitled One three twoand cut into three parts. “Three duos: male, female and mixed”, analyzes Gaël Leveugle, who highlights the participation of “two Chaumontese companies”, before delving into the subject. The scenography around the colors white and black, the choice of music, the orientation and power of the lights, the location of the artists and the sometimes hyperproximity with the audience, the costumes used, the use of space… Nothing is not forgotten.
-Obviously, the group’s appetite for dance translates into a technical analysis, particularly on the use of bodies. The societal aspect is also developed by the question of male virility, via the table Boys club, performed by the Kosa company. Discussions also focus on the relevance of room sheets and the importance of visualizing – or not – teasers in the preamble; between usefulness in understanding the process and surprise at witnessing a representation different from what it is described. The session concluded with an overall rating, ranging from single to triple.
Visions
Between the director’s directions and the testimonies of Manon, David, Catherine, Marine or Capucine (not to mention them all), the open-mindedness operates: “The fact of having discussed it all together made me allowed me to realize several things that I had not necessarily observed the day before. That’s why I revised my rating,” says Florence Joséphine, one of the protagonists in the organization of the Rock’in Jazz gala. After a short break of one year, replaced in 2024 by a dance fashion show, the dance club event will be back on June 7 and 8.
For the second outing, the members of the GAS will go to Reims, Thursday February 6, to attend the show When the bleeding stopswith a debriefing after the room. A new configuration, between dance and video projections, and menopause as a social subject.
