Engagement of Princess Leopoldine of Liechtenstein

The Count of announced the engagement of his niece, Princess Leopoldine of Liechtenstein. Princess Leopoldine will be the second child of Prince Gundakar and Princess Marie to marry soon.

Engagements within the royal family of and the princely family of Liechtenstein

The good news continues in the small principality of Liechtenstein. Last October, hereditary Prince Alois, eldest son of sovereign Hans-Adam II, announced the engagement of his daughter, Princess Marie Caroline. The wedding is planned for this summer. Other good news, other engagements were made public on January 14, 2025: those of Princess Léopoldine.

Princess Leopoldine of Liechtenstein is engaged

Princess Leopoldine is the eldest daughter of Prince and Princess Gundakar of Liechtenstein. In June 2023, one of his brothers, Prince Johann-Wenzel, was the first of his siblings to get married. Prince Johann-Wenzel and his young wife, Princess Felicitas, welcomed their first child, Princess Josefine, in August 2024.

Princess Leopoldine was born on June 27, 1990 in Vienna. His father, Prince Gundakar, is a cousin of the family currently ruling the Principality of Liechtenstein. His mother, Princess Marie d’Orléans, was one of the sisters of Prince Jean, Count of Paris, head of the royal family of France.

The Count of Paris was responsible for announcing the engagement of his niece, Princess Leopoldine, to Bruno Walter Pedrosa João. No date has been given for the wedding of Princess Leopoldine, who is descended from the French royal family on her maternal side. Princess Marie is a direct descendant of King Louis-Philippe I of the French.

Gundakar of Liechtenstein married Marie d’Orléans, in , in 1989. The couple are parents of five children: Princess Léopoldine, Princess Maria-Immaculata, Prince Johann-Wenzel, Princess Marguerite and Prince Gabriel, born between 1990 and 1998.
