The testimony of a tragedy. From January 15, the Netflix, Amazon Prime and Filmin platforms will make available to the public the documentary “Gaza: The Strip of Extermination” directed by Mexican filmmaker Rafael Rangel, which shows the armed conflict in the Gaza Strip , amid bombings and actions by doctors and local activists.
The documentary shows the extreme conditions that the civilian population still faces due to the blockade, bombings and international restrictions amid the conflict. The people’s testimony was crucial because it offers a first-hand insight into the suffering, resistance and hopes of those struggling to survive in inhumane conditions.
For filming, the production team traveled to Gaza in 2024 in defiance of access and security limits, with the aim of “giving a voice to the voiceless”. It shows images recorded during the bombings, the consequences of the war, and invites the viewer to reflect on this human tragedy.
The documentary “Gaza: The Extermination Strip” had its international premiere at the Berlin Human Rights Film Festival and was screened this Friday the 10th at the Cineteca Nacional in Mexico City. The production was praised for its narrative power and journalistic bravery.
