The Reflections of Scene troupe.

Theater, as a field of expression for all: this is the desire of Louis-Marie Savy, director of the Mayenne association La Jeune Chambre Economique (JCE) of . This oversees Reflets de scène, a troupe not quite like the others which was created a year ago. The eighteen actors all have a little something extra: bipolarity, autism or disability from birth, “a fragility which requires them to have a great capacity to adapt to play their role”.

In line with the mainstream film which was a hit with more than ten million admissions, the young director – whose sister has Down syndrome – hopes that this initiative contributes to changing the way people view disability. Budding actors will give, in Laval, four performances of a play composed of twelve sketches and entitled Do you dare to take a look behind the scenes?

An immense challenge for artists: “Our theater seats 300; the young people are eager to emerge from the shadows after ten months of intensive rehearsals.
