Due to her illness, the Quebec singer put her career on hold in 2020, before delivering a memorable performance during the Paris Olympic Games.

Celine Dion is back. Suffering from stiff person syndrome, the 56-year-old singer was forced to cancel her “Courage World Tour” on March 8, 2020 and put her career on hold. But it was just goodbye. In an article published on December 25, Paris Match reveals the projects of the famous Quebecer.

Céline’s performance at the Paris Olympics

After an absence that seemed interminable to her fans, Céline had already proven that she was ready for the stage, on July 26, by performing The Hymn to Love by Edith Piaf, perched at the top of the Eiffel Tower. A memorable performance which marked the opening of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. But one might have thought that the singer had simply seized the opportunity and that this did not necessarily announce her return to the stage. But, on November 13, Céline once again put on the show by singing in Riyadh during the anniversary fashion show of designer Elie Saab.

Two albums in preparation

This time, no more doubt. Sources confirmed to Paris Match that Celine Dion was preparing her comeback with two albums. The first would be in English and had already been in preparation for several months. “The idea is that she covers her biggest songs in duets with others,” members of her entourage told the magazine. All the music stars come to Las Vegas, it’s quite easy to organize recording sessions there.” As for the second album, it is said that it will be in French and with the help of Jean-Jacques Goldman to whom we owe So that you love me again, If it was enough to love or one more evening. “They don’t need to see each other or talk to each other to understand each other,” a source told the magazine. Jean-Jacques was always the one who best summed up Céline. It’s hard to do without him.”

A concert in Paris?

Less certain this time, but not impossible, Céline Dion could also return to the stage and not just anywhere: in Paris. “As things currently stand, we have to be ready for the day she decides to return to the arena,” a Parisian producer told Paris Match. She was very clear: for her return to Europe, and only if she feels capable, it will be in Paris. According to the magazine, “an option has been made for a month of residency and a series of ten concerts at Paris La Défense Arena for the last quarter of 2026”. To be continued.
