Kareen Guiock Thuram takes stock of this first year as presenter of 66 minutes, M6's Sunday magazine.
From 2012 to 2023, he was the emblematic presenter of the 19.45, Xavier Demoulin, who hosted 66 minutes. After her departure, another regular on the channel's news program took over: Kareen Guiock Thuram, presenter of the 12.45 from 2012 to 2022. In one year of plateau, the audience does not drop and the Sunday magazine is still as popular. In an interview given to TV 7 days published on Sunday December 15, 2024, it looks back on the program's recent audience scores: “I arrived in a show that was very established, but that everyone was willing to change. For example, with interviews, an exercise that I appreciated on the news.”
Promising results, despite tough competition
On Sunday afternoon, the competition is fierce. With shows or events established for years on most television channels, standing out is not always easy. Even more so if two channels offer similar programs! In his interview for TV 7 daysKareen Guiock Thuram clarifies her thoughts on the competition that can represent Seven to Eightpresented by Harry Roselmack and broadcast on TF1 since 2000. She explains: “It's a competition, without really being one”, before developing: “On M6we have lots of brands that TF1 does not have: Capital, Forbidden zone… In 66 minuteswe are in a reflection of complementarity in relation to our other magazines, more than competition with Seven to eight”. Kareen Guiock Thuram completely ties 66 minutes to a great whole, creating what she calls “the DNA of M6”, that is to say, always in his words: “Inform, provide practical advice, support viewers, which we offer on several brands.”
66 minute, a show that totally suits it!
Presenter of several formats on M6 for more than ten years, she has been one of the major figures in the chain. For TV 7 daysshe even explains that she fits completely into this “ADN M6” that she describes. To present 66 minutes is therefore only the logical continuation of his career. “I have always been fascinated, touched, moved by the human condition. It is fascinating to see how from point A, birth, to point B, the end credits, we manage to create quite exceptional lives, sometimes with not much.”, explains the host. 66 minutes and she, a business that goes well, and which will continue to go on, therefore!
