Comedian Jean-Marie Bigard, who struggled with alcohol for a long time, remained sober for a whole year. He dove back, he confided in an interview with Jordan de Luxe on C8.

Jean-Marie Bigard finds his old demons. The comedian has never hidden his drinking a lot of alcohol. He could drink up to 2 liters a day. In January 2023, he proudly announced that he had stopped his alcohol consumption. “Not a drop of alcohol since October 18. And I want to tell everyone that it doesn't work to slow down […] The only method is zero.” Jean-Marie Bigard had to seriously review his lifestyle following a stroke.

Jean-Marie Bigard has unfortunately regained a taste for excessive alcohol consumption. “I went a year without drinking a drop of alcohol and I said to myself: I can’t imagine a meal without drinking wine.” He continues: “I'm going to do what one should never do, that is to say, I drank a glass of wine at lunchtime, a glass of wine in the evening, to get the taste of wine in my mouth”, he said on the set of Jordan de Luxe on C8, Friday December 20. The quantities then gradually increased.

“One drink is too much”

Having another drink was the mistake not to make, Renaud had confided to him. “My friend Renaud, the singer, one day spoke to me about this and said to me, 'My wife told me, if you want, you can have another drink at the table.' is too much and twelve is not enough'. That's exactly what being an alcoholic is all about.

Following this admission, Jean-Marie Bigard is determined to resume his fight against alcohol. “I gave again and left until January 2. I knew it would be the best gift I could give Lola.” Lola Marois is the companion of Jean-Marie Bigard. She plays the role of a policewoman in the TF1 soap opera “Plus belle la vie, even plus belle”.
