New restaurants feature in the December 2024 selection of the Michelin Guide in Belgium and Luxembourg. In its bimonthly selection, the latest version of which was published for the month of December, the gastronomic guide has distinguished ten new addresses, located between the Grand Duchy, Wallonia, Flanders and the Brussels-Capital region.
“We will eat bouillabaisse in particular in Hesperange, we will find a traditional bistro and a wine bistro in Antwerp, while in Ixelles we will eat in an old butcher’s shop and North Sea fish plays the main role in Bruges” , writes the Michelin Guide by way of introduction.
Artis, Hesperange
Only one Luxembourg restaurant is part of this selection. At the Artis restaurant in Hesperange, chef Hao Guo “shares his experience in renowned restaurants, in Belgium and abroad”.
Thus, “his cuisine is based on French flavors, with some international influences”. The specialty that made the restaurant famous: a “bouillabaisse with seafood that fully expresses its salty side, and a rich and subtle broth”, according to the description in the Michelin Guide.
The restaurant also pays particular attention to the selection of wines, from France and Luxembourg.
La Maison Thai, Ouffet
La Maison Thai, in Ouffet, is the only Belgian address to be located at a reasonable distance from Luxembourg, since the restaurant is approximately 70 km from the border.
According to the Michelin Guide, “the delicious chicken thigh of the massaman curry reveals classic, deep flavors, and the freshly made spring rolls are enhanced with a spicy sweet and sour sauce.”
Additionally, “Thai fondue lovers will also be delighted,” although the gastronomic guide suggests customers order it in advance.
