If women and those aged 25-49 are particularly fond of these beauty gifts, 44% of men also regularly use cosmetic gifts.
84% of French people associate cosmetics and well-being
A very large majority of French people consider that a cosmetic gift promotes the well-being of the recipient (84%) and that it therefore shows special attention to them (79% for all respondents). Logically, 76% of French people consider that a cosmetic gift is sure to please, whatever their socio-professional category.
On the budget side, it is those over 65 who are most ready to spend a larger budget on a cosmetic gift: they plan to spend €64 on average, or 23% more than the €52 in average considered by all respondents. For their part, 47% of men say they are ready to spend more than €50 for this gift, compared to only 34% of women.
Perfume at the top of gift ideas
Asked about the type of cosmetic gift they could give, respondents cite perfume first: it stands out as the preferred gift on this occasion by 69% of French people, and even 76% among those over 50. . Multi-product boxes, often put together especially for the holidays, are also very successful: they come in second on the podium for favorite gifts to put under the tree, with 38%.
More personal, makeup only garners 21% of the vote, except among young people: 36% of 18-24 year olds consider it a cosmetic gift to favor for the holidays. Symmetrically, only 13% of those over 65 plan to offer a makeup product, probably for fear of getting lost in this world marked by the very rapid renewal of trends.
Men will receive cosmetics
Who will be offered these cosmetic products? For 53% of French people, it could be men. 47% of the surveyed panel have already given a gift of this type to a man, and 34% plan to do so this year. Among these “intentionists”, we find primarily women: 38% plan this year to give a cosmetic product to a man they know, but also 30% of men who plan to give this gift to another man. 25-34 year olds, too, are particularly open to this idea: 64% of them have already given a cosmetic product to a man, or would like to do so this year.
