“Playing with Suzanne Clément is every time a master class,” says actor Robin L’Houmeau

Robin L’Houmeau is talked to almost every day about his role as Jérémy, the son of Emmanuelle (Suzanne Clément), in the daily STAT. “The audience is intimidating,” admits the actor, who will share the screen with Luc Picard in the next illico+ series The last of the watches.

«STAT, it’s a school. Playing with Suzanne Clément is every time a master class,” says Val-d’Or native actor Robin L’Houmeau.

The interpreter of Jérémy, the son of the central character of STAT Emmanuelle St-Cyr says she initially found filming on one of the most popular Quebec shows intimidating. “People talk to me about it all the time,” breathes the 27-year-old actor.

He admits that he “finds it special” to be approached in this way by strangers, who often address him as if he were his character.

“I like to come and break this idea that I’m not just an actor, but also a guy that people come to talk to. I want to talk about creation, the creative process of the characters and the game more than the show in which I am seen. There has to be a human connection,” he emphasizes.

On this set, he says he is particularly happy to have reconnected with the actress Marine Johnson (who plays the role of Rosalie), with whom he had worked on the film The goddess of fire flies. “Their romantic relationship is interesting to explore, and we’ve known each other for a long time,” he says.

Méthode Stanislavski

For the record, it is the young drug addict that he plays in the series In Memory who is his favorite character in his career to date.

And for good reason: Robin L’Houmeau dove headfirst into the Stanislavski method (method acting in English) the entire time this filming lasted.

“For about three months I stayed in my role. I tried to nurture a creative space between takes and even at home, where I could stay in character as much as possible. Everyone is on board with my business. They respected this process that I wanted to try once in my life. It was really intense,” admits the man who went from 155 lbs to 133 lbs to make this drug-ridden being credible.

In the detective series The last of the watches, which will be available on illico+ in spring 2025, Robin L’Houmeau will play “a very mysterious guy who will discover what the truth and lies are and who will finally be able to form his own ideas about life and its responsibilities”, says- it in a mysterious way.

Alongside the hard core of characters played by Luc Picard, Ariane Castellanos and Irdens Exantus, he will play a “fairly important” role in this story combining murder, secrets and religion.

Finally, the busy artist who is part of the indie folk music group Oliver Forest will be in the first series written by comedian Guillaume Wagner: Free now. The television work, which will follow five roommates in their Montreal adventures, will be available in 2025 on ICI TOU. EXTRA.
