For several years now, the idea of a winter version has been running through the minds of the organizers of Aucard de Tours. But it was only after the last edition of the unmissable Touraine festival of contemporary music, last June, that they decided to get started.

Here we are a few months later and Radio Béton, this Tuesday, December 3, unveils the programming for Aucard d’hiver (barely 3 days after its indescribable Soirée des Johnny), guaranteeing us “that an unprecedented wave of human warmth will hit the Corpopétrussian zone in the heart of the cold season”, next February 28 and March 1!

In the Corpopétrussienne zone (the gentility that we love), because Aucard d’hiver will see the light of day on two sites of the cultural life of Saint-Pierre-des-Corps: the Point Haut, an emblematic place of creation of the avant-garde show guard in Indre-et-, and the Sun, winter tavern and big novelty at the end of 2024.

“There will be a sort of little tourist train between these two spots, with the performances of a guide responsible for leading festival-goers from one site to the otherexplains Charles Crost, communications manager for Béton Production. Le Soleil will be essentially devoted to street arts, experiences carried by the Grand Colossal theater, with a specific creation for this first edition of Aucard d’hiver. And the High Point will be dedicated to music, with a large stage, the Hangar, and a slightly smaller space, the Igloo.”

We will find there, promise the organizers, everything that makes festival-goers vibrate in the summer edition, namely “sharp eclecticism, euphoric discoveries and great moments of communion”.

As for Aucard de Tours, in fact, the programmer Enzo Petillault ensured that the selected artists will perform at Aucard de Saint-Pierre, scouring the concerts to find the best performers on stage.

“The programming of this first edition traces an axis that goes from the British Isles to North Africa, via Touraineunderlines Charles Crost. A sort of musical meridian crossing the English Channel and the Mediterranean.”

The Aucard d’Hiver program celebrates and highlights what unites us: from Belfast to the heart of Morocco, it strides across borders that others try to close. Better, this poster is all about sound hybridization and cross influences. It clearly combines chaâbi sounds and English techno, electronic brawls, French rap and globalized dancefloors.

Aucard d’Hiver, press release

The big headliners are Jacques, a figure in electronic pop for around ten years, and Daniel Avery, a key artist in global techno, resumes Charles Crost. But on a personal level, I’m also very looking forward to seeing, for example, Kaba and Hyas, who produce club rap or Enola Gay, who plays very angry post-punk…And we are also very happy to welcome for the closings of the Igloo, Vitaline and Oshun, two DJs from Tours on the rise, rising names in France.”

If Radio Béton obtained its authorization to broadcast in 1986, it began to operate on the airwaves in 1985. The happy event of the arrival of Aucard d’Hiver will therefore take place on the occasion of the fortieth anniversary from Touraine associative radio. News that we savor all the more since we feared, just a few weeks ago, the end of free radio, with a drastic cut announced in the credits allocated to radio expression.

“MoreCharles Crost reminds us, This event is not subsidized at all, it is a pilot in which we are investing for the future. So we’re really counting on the public, we need their support…”
