Justice plans for Pierre Palmade to be incarcerated at the Bordeaux-Gradignan penitentiary center before the holidays, according to information from RTL. Pierre Palmade already has an appointment at the Bordeaux public prosecutor's office, where he resides, within three weeks. A magistrate in charge of the execution of sentences will notify him of the court's decision as well as the terms of execution. During this meeting at which the actor must be present – he cannot be represented – the justice system must inform him of the place and date of his incarceration.
Traditionally, in the case of a deferred committal warrant, justice provides for a close incarceration date, in the days following this meeting with the magistrate in charge of executing the sentences. Which would mean he would spend Christmas in prison. The comedian can, however, try to negotiate a date of incarceration after the holidays with the magistrate.
Pierre Palmade has until midnight on Monday evening to indicate whether he is appealing his sentence to 2 years in prison handed down on November 20. The 56-year-old comedian was convicted of involuntary injuries under the influence of drugs, a repeat offense following the violent road accident he caused in February 2023 in Seine-et-Marne. Whatever its decision, the Melun court attached the sentence to a deferred committal warrant with provisional execution. This means that even if he files an appeal, even if an appeal trial takes place, the actor must be incarcerated within four months following the first instance judgment.
Contacted, Pierre Palmade's lawyers did not react. The actor will be able, once incarcerated, to make a request for a reduced sentence. It will then be up to a sentence enforcement judge to decide, after a contradictory hearing.
