Whether you're a serious League of Legends player or not, if you like animation and well-written stories, you have obviously watched the Arcane series on Netflix. Produced in collaboration with Riot Games and the French studio Fortiche, the latter had proven in its first season that it was one of the best series of the last 10 years. Three weeks ago, it was finally time to discover what happened next thanks to the second and final season of Arcane.

As with the first season a few years ago, season 2 of Arcane was not released all of a sudden like the rest of Netflix productions. Instead, subscribers were able to enjoy three episodes on November 9, three more on November 16, and last three episodes on November 23. An excellent way to maintain the hype over several weeks and get spectators interacting on social networks. But while the series is finally over for good, it's a completely different production that has taken its place at the top of the top of the most popular series of the moment on Netflix.

But the Riot Games series is overtaken by another!

While Arcane broadcast its last episodes just a few days ago and it had occupied first place in the Top most watched series on Netflix for a good part of its broadcast, it only took very little of time for the adaptation of League of Legends to be overtaken. Indeed, at the time of writing these lines, it is no longer Arcane in Top 1 but rather L'Impératrice, a series of a completely different genre. However, we remain in the European flagship since the series is a German production.

In case you are wondering where this famous series comes from, know that it is in fact a second season. The first was broadcast in September 2022 on the SVOD platform, and obviously, it was popular enough for a sequel to be able to have a similar effect. The Empress tells the story of Elizabeth of Austria, better known as Sissi the Empress. A bit like The CrownThe Empress is a good way to learn more about this historical character while maintaining a very romanticized prism. A method that has already proven itself, and which visibly continues to do so given the speed at which the series has surpassed Arcane.
