A new piece from Taulier appears this Friday, November 22. Titled You have to ridethis title is broadcast exclusively this Thursday in Première Édition.
Another gift for Johnny Hallyday fans. Nine months after the release of two unreleased tracks from Taulier, a new unknown piece appears this Friday. Titled You have to ridethis title is broadcast exclusively this Thursday in Première Édition.
The song, which dates from 1968, was found by Universal, which embarked on a project to promote the tapes recorded by Johnny Hallyday. The artist performs this title while he multiplies projects after his time in the army.
As he goes through concerts, films and albums, the rocker evokes in this piece the world of entertainment and the often exhausting backstage of tours and his daily life from city to city.
Written by Georgette Lemaire, who had success in the 1960s and 1970s with the songs I don’t know et You were beautiful, ma’amthe song is a French adaptation of an Anglo-Saxon title by Mick Jones and Tommy Brown.
Unreleased sixties-style mix
The song was ready to be mixed with the voice of Johnny Hallyday. Universal therefore started from scratch to imagine the color to give to the record, with a lot of stereo effects assumed, as was the case in the songs of the 1960s.
A 45 rpm single is released this Friday. This release is accompanied by the reissue of two Taulier records: Young mana fairly classic album, and Dream and Lovemore psychedelic.
A new concert album
A SuperDeluxe CD box set covering all of Johnny’s musical news in 1968 will then be released on December 13. Universal’s next project on Johnny would be 1972, which saw the beginnings of his collaboration with Michel Mallory.
On December 6, an album of Johnny’s concert at the Eiffel Tower in 2011 will also be released. On December 3, 2011, the rocker gave an exceptional concert on the first floor of the Parisian monument to a hand-picked audience.
The record is an event for fans: Johnny reveals a previously unreleased track for the first time, Self-portrait“a feverish and powerful rock track,” according to the press release.
Half a dozen unreleased items
Several unreleased Johnny Hallyday releases have recently been released: A cryrecorded in February 2017 in Los Angeles, was unveiled in November 2023 on the compilation Made in Rock’n’Roll. It was originally intended to appear on the disc My country is love (2018).
Another new one, Burn my heartwas included last year in a complete set of Johnny’s songs revisited in symphony and supervised by another of his former collaborators, star arranger Yvan Cassar.
Since Johnny’s death in 2017, two other songs from France’s favorite rocker have been pulled from limbo: Night with me et Two kinds of men. In December 2022, Laeticia Hallyday had assured that there were still other unpublished ones.
