Oasis: Liam Gallagher claims to have made the first move

Liam Gallagher claims he first approached Noel Gallagher to end their 15-year feud. The brothers, who disbanded Oasis after a final row in 2009, finally buried the hatchet this year and will embark on a reunion tour in 2025.

“Liam, who called first? You or Noel?” a fan asked him on X on Wednesday. To which the “Wonderwall” singer replied: “I called him, but don’t tell anyone because I don’t want people to think I’m a softie and stuff, keep it between you and me, thanks.”

The Mancunian also revealed that they would meet up for “food and drinks in London” after his Malta shows later this month. He added: “We’re in a band called Oasis, he’s a guitarist, I’m a singer and we’re going to do a few shows next year, hopefully that clears things up…”

Asked if he is “nervous” about performing as Oasis again, Liam Gallagher insisted he is “ready to go” because “it’s what I do”.

The ‘Oasis Live ’25’ tour will kick off at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales, on July 4 and 5. The band will also play five nights at Manchester’s Heaton Park, seven times at London’s Wembley Stadium, three times at Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium and two times at Croke Park in Dublin, Ireland.

Two Wembley dates have been added due to overwhelming demand. Rather than a general sale, there will be a “staggered, invitation-only voting process” that will prioritise those who missed out on tickets the first time around. Meanwhile, the UK government has announced it will be looking into the way concert tickets are sold, including the practice of “dynamic pricing”, which has led to skyrocketing prices and hundreds of complaints from outraged fans.

While these concerts are Oasis’ only ones in Europe, the authors of “Don’t Look Back in Anger” should then perform on other continents.
