The first volume of Cher’s highly anticipated memoir, titled Cher: The Memoir, Part Oneis now available.
In this 413-page book, the music and cinema legend offers an intimate account of his journey, his successes, but also his personal struggles. Cher looks back on her chaotic childhood, including the time her mother sent her to a religious home, and her first steps in the music industry, marked by her collaborations with artists like Darlene Love and Phil Spector.
She also reveals the complex and fascinating story of her relationship with Sonny Bono, which propelled them to the height of stardom before leading to their breakup. The book also explores his unwavering love for Gregg Allman and his incredible return to the charts at age 52 with the hit “Believe”, a defining moment in his career.
Cher, 78, who made history by becoming the first woman to top the Billboard charts for seven consecutive decades, recounts with poignant sincerity her rise to fame, without a specific plan or much self-confidence.
