An intimate exhibition, mixing contemporary art and rap

If we knew his love for making words vibrate, rapper Oli likes to think outside the box. The proof in paintings with this exhibition of which he is the curator. News announced on the 28-year-old singer’s Instagram account.

“Passionate about art since I was little, those who know me know how symbolic and strong this project is for me,” says Oli in the caption of the video, where the name of the exhibition created by the sales champion is mentioned. of records: “Oli’s imaginary museum”.

“At the crossroads of art and rap, the exhibition unfolds a personal score. The themes that are dear to the duo (formed with his brother Florian Ordoñez, Editor’s note) regularly mentioned in their songs, rhyme family, childhood and attachment to Toulouse with multiculturalism, the power of orality and art for all,” we can read on the website of the Musée des Abattoirs.

Like his songs, Oli likes to bring together artists whose pen he admires, or rather here their brushstroke. Before opening the doors of the museum to the public, the singer of “Sur la Lune” selected the best of contemporary art from the reserves of the “Abattoir”. Among the fifty artists exhibited, Andy Warhol, César, Keith Haring, Pierre Soulages, Bianca Bondi, Jacques Villeglé…

An eclectic exhibition, which will also feature works by Toulouse-based Claude Nougaro and the comic strip author Zep. Some will even come from Oli’s personal collection.

Around the exhibition, the rapper Oli has also imagined a whole cultural program with concerts, the names of the artists of which are kept secret, conferences on rap, a film club and performances by dancers. An event without a shadow on the board, which will take place from December 6, 2024 to May 12, 2025.
