Dylan Latcha 31-year-old young man who lives in Val-de-Reuil (Eure), describes himself as “a strange bird”. In a video posted on September 25 on YouTube, he declares with irony: “An autistic person in communications, that sounds like a joke, right? »
This Wednesday on France 5
Despite his disability, Dylan Loquet – “hypersensitive, hyperacoustic, clumsy” with “dozens of OCDs” and “so many routines to satisfy”, in other words a ‘neuroatypical’ – stands out for his energy, his optimism and his joy of living . Qualities that earned him attention for participating in the short program All on stage for disability (season 2)broadcast during this European week for the employment of people with disabilities, from Monday 18 to Sunday 24 November. More precisely, it inspired a spot which will be broadcast on France 5 this Wednesday, November 20 around 9:45 a.m. It will then be posted on social networks.
This television program aims to report on real situations experienced by people with disabilities, which are then told by actors. For Dylan Loquet, the actor Frédéric Bouraly, who plays the character of José in the series Household scenes (M6)took part in the game. At the heart of the themes, unsuitable housing, compulsory studies, difficulties in accessing employment or healthcare, etc.
“I felt so indebted”
Born in Louviers, Dylan Loquet didn’t know until he was 19 that he had autism. “Before that, I was the weird guy to everyone else,” he says. After having “tried various Faculty degrees”, the young man completed two years in history. At the same time, he tried his hand at writing, via Textbroker, an Internet writing platform. “I was a ghostwriter,” summarizes Dylan Loquet.
Later, between 2021 and 2022, he was even a press correspondent for La Dépêche de Louviers. “Then, I wanted to get my first 35 hours and I knocked on the door of APF Entreprises*, in Val-de-Reuil, which was kind enough not to ask for four years of seniority. » With the company, he then signed a springboard contract and was put in charge of communications, via his contact Wilfried Levigneron. He confides: “When I was hired, I felt so indebted and grateful that I gave my all to my job. »
“You must never apologize for existing”
Today Dylan Loquet feels “peaceful”, “in his place”. All this because his employer was willing to give him space for his neuro-atypicality to express itself. “When everyone puts a little of their own into it, we can be happy and have a job even if we are autistic,” he confides before qualifying:
There are 1,000 different types of autism, and many other disabilities. I only speak for myself.
He who spent his childhood hiding, hiding his difference, says today with pride:
I take responsibility. I am me and you should never apologize for existing. Businesses and society need to understand that a person with a disability is used to adversity because they continually struggle with themselves. To ignore us is to lose a living force that can be very effective.
Dylan Loquet accepts this message and carries it. This is why he made this short film about autism and its daily life. This one, visible on YouTube, was selected at the Regards Croisés festival, in Saint-Malo (Ille-et-Vilaine), on November 7 and 8.
* APF Entreprises is the business network of the APF France handicap association.
The television program Tous en scène pour le handicap (season 2) is broadcast from November 18 to 22 on France 2 (around 12:55 p.m.) and on France 5 (around 9:45 a.m.) as well as on France 3 on November 23 around 6 p.m. 50. The sketch which concerns an anecdote from the life of Dylan Loquet will be broadcast on France 5 on Wednesday November 20 around 9:45 a.m.
