At the La Roë Christmas market, more than 10,000 visitors already immersed in the magic of the holidays

The magic of the end-of-year holidays is already starting to spread in our department. The La Roë Christmas market, in southern Mayenne, welcomed more than 10,000 visitors for its third edition Sunday November 17. The people of Mayen wandered all day among the 53 local exhibitors and the decorations made by the volunteers… And even the snow was there. “Juline has been under the artificial snow and it is filled with moss, she loves it!“, smiles her mother Elodie. “I think that tonight there will be desires to make the Christmas tree.“

A few weeks before Christmas, this market is also an opportunity to find gifts. Virginie and her goddaughter Louane already have their hands full. “We bought snails, dried flowers, candles… Lots of future gifts!“Safely sheltered in her chalet, Emmanuelle Boisseau sells her cups, bowls and other ceramic candle holders, and has not stopped since her arrival at 10 a.m..”Many people have said to me “It’s okay, I made my presents for Christmas!” On the other hand, when I ask certain people if they need a gift package, they tell me yes, but it’s for them!“

The opportunity to treat yourself without waiting for December 25. The first edition of the La Roë Christmas market brought together 4,000 visitors, last year 8,000. This year the objective of welcoming 10,000 people was even exceeded, according to Justine Boishus, deputy at the town hall in charge of the event. “We had set up a second car park, which was only to open from 4 p.m. Finally, at noon, people had to start parking there.“
