A sportswoman at heart, she also put on sneakers. This Saturday, November 16, 2024, under a clear Mediterranean sun, Princess Charlene took part in the No Finish Line Race in her own way. Was she lined up at the start on the circuit which criss-crosses the Fontvieille district? Better still, as godmother of this 25th edition, she, confetti gun in hand, kicked off this charity race where no less than 11,443 participants registered this time! To the sound of the best hits mixed by DJ Franco. Excited atmosphere guaranteed.
Launched in 1999 by the Young Economic Chamber of Monaco to promote Monaco’s Children’s Rights Day, the No Finish Line Race – which takes place day and night until November 24 – has since raised more than five million euros for sick or disadvantaged children. Let us salute the participants who since the creation of this race open to all, licensed or not, runners and walkers, have covered nearly 4.8 million kilometers, the equivalent of 120 times around the Earth.
“I am happy and proud to be the godmother of the 25th edition”, underlined Charlène de Monaco a few days ago via her social networks. Recalling in passing that: “Every step, every effort, contributes to the success of this event for the actions of the Children and Future association. I thank you for your participation and your enthusiasm!” Thanks to the registrations, donors and sponsors, for each kilometer traveled, the association will donate €1 to support projects for disadvantaged or sick children. This year’s ambition: 330,000 km, therefore 330,000 euros.
At the beginning of the afternoon, Jacques and Gabriella’s mother joined the runners and reconnoitred the route. Always supported by young runners, members of the government and the team of her Princess Charlene Foundation, led by her brother Gareth Wittstock, now general secretary. Very comfortable, the princess also took part in the photo shoots, laughing generously when an enormous foam heart (into which a volunteer had slipped) came very close to her to fit into the frame!
Before the race began, the wife of Albert II wanted to greet the brave: young and old, whom she did not hesitate to hug in her arms to give them the strength to go to the finish line. end of the effort. Suddenly turning into a super coach… A role that suits him perfectly.
