Donald Trump was described as the “second George Washington” by Sylvester Stallone.

While introducing the Republican Party leader at the America First Policy Institute Gala held at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida on Thursday (November 24), the Rocky actor made the praising the victory of the President-elect of the United States over Democratic Party candidate Kamala Harris in the election which took place earlier this month.

Sylvester Stallone also compared Donald Trump to George Washington, the founding father who served as the first president of the United States from 1789 to 1797.

“I’m just going to say this – and I mean it. When George Washington defended his country, he had no idea he would change the world. Because without him, we can imagine what the world would be like. Guess what? We have the second George Washington. Congratulations!” he declared enthusiastically

Furthermore, Sylvester Stallone compared Donald Trump to his iconic character, Rocky Balboa. To emphasize the point, he recalled the opening image of the 1976 film, which cuts from a painting of Christ to Rocky getting punched in the gym.

“At that moment, he was a chosen person and that’s how I began the journey – something was going to happen, this man was going to transform and change lives, just like President Trump,” continued the 78-year-old actor and director. “We are in the presence of a truly legendary character. I love mythology. And this individual does not exist on this planet. No one in the world could have achieved what he managed to do, so I’m impressed.”

After this dithyrambic introduction, Donald Trump took the stage and shook hands with Sylvester Stallone.

Previously, the Tulsa King star had remained tight-lipped about his political affiliations. But in a 2016 interview with Variety, Sylvester Stallone revealed that he “loved” Donald Trump and considered him a “great Dickensian character.”
