“Admiring” the new American president, Sylvester Stallone compares Donald Trump to George Washington

Actor and filmmaker Sylvester Stallone introduced President-elect Donald Trump at the America First Policy Institute (AFPI) gala at Mar-a-Lago in Florida on Thursday evening. And the least we can say is that his concert of praise was excessive, like the characters he played.

At the start of his speech, Stallone began talking about his character “Rocky” and how he was “going to go through a metamorphosis and change his life, just like President Trump.” And to continue, “We are in the presence of a truly mythical character. No one in the world could have achieved what he achieved, so I’m impressed.”

Sylvester Stallone even dared to make a historical comparison. “When George Washington (Editor's note: the first president of the United States) defended his country, he had no idea that he was going to change the world because without him you could imagine what the world would be like. Guess what? We have the second George Washington. Congratulations ! » Trump took the stage and whispered a few words to the actor while shaking his hand firmly. Then Trump in his speech welcomed the appointments he has just made with Elon Musk or Marco Rubio or Pete Hegseth;

Even though Stallone remained in the shadows throughout the election, he never hid his admiration for Trump. In 2016, he told Variety: “I love Trump.” And the president-elect's admiration seems mutual. In November 2019, when he was at the end of his first term as President of the United States, Donald Trump published on X a photomontage showing his head on the actor's body at the time when he played the boxer in the cinema . According to some observers, this was a response to criticism regarding his state of health.
