Lara Croft will now have the features of Sophie Turner on screen. The “Game of Thrones” actress succeeds Angelina Jolie and Alicia Vikander, who both played the video game heroine in the cinema. The 28-year-old British actress, revealed to the general public by her role as Sansa Stark, will play the ranger archaeologist in an Amazon series directed by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, the creator of “Fleabag”.
According to several American media, even if the agreement is not yet completely concluded, Sophie Turner was preferred to Lucy Boynton (“Bohemian Rhapsody”). In addition to “Game of Thrones”, she was also seen in two “X-Men” films. And if the actress has been more discreet on screen lately than in the celebrity pages – for her divorce from Joe Jonas –, in 2025 she will have the main role in the series “Haven” on Prime Video.
We know almost nothing about the new “Tomb Raider” series, also produced by Crystal Dynamics, which is preparing a new game in the license. Last May, when her development was announced, Phoebe Waller-Bridge said: “Lara Croft means a lot to me, as it does to many others, and I can’t wait to go on this adventure. Bats and all that included.”
