For its fourth week in theaters, “L’Amour ouf” continues to dominate the French box office. With 703,000 new entries, Gilles Lellouche's drama carried by François Civil and Adèle Exarchopoulos now reaches just over 3.7 million spectators. This success places the feature film sixth among the most viewed films in 2024, and thus surpasses “Deadpool & Wolverine”.
“Monsieur Azanavour” rises again, “The Substance” arrives in the top 10
“Monsieur Aznavour” resists and takes second place on the podium with 410,000 spectators this week for 1.4 million entries in total, a remarkable rise in the third week. This biopic, directed by Mehdi Idir and Grand Corps Malade, is now the sixth biggest French success of the year. In third place, we find Clint Eastwood's legal drama, “Juror No. 2”, which has now exceeded one million tickets sold. Demoted to 4th position, “Venom: The Last Dance” saw its attendance drop by 51% with 373,000 additional entries, bringing its total to more than a million spectators. This figure is close to that of “Venom: Let There Be Carnage”, which reached 1.6 million admissions during the same period in 2021.

As for new releases, “Louise Violet”, by Éric Besnard, got off to a good start with 227,000 admissions. A score slightly lower than that of “Simple Things”, his previous film, which attracted 168,000 spectators during its first week of operation in February 2023. “The Substance”, another novelty of the week, attracted 213,000 spectators . A horror film that received much commentary in the United States and won the Screenplay Prize at Cannes, it could however benefit from word of mouth in the coming weeks. Worn by Demi Moore and signed by French director Coralie Fargeat, it features a 50-year-old actress who agrees to inject herself with a mysterious “substance” promising her a rejuvenated version of herself.
Also note, the unique broadcast of “Mylène Farmer – Nevermore – Le Film”, broadcast only on Thursday November 7, which caused a sensation by attracting 201,000 spectators for an impressive average of 269 admissions per screening, the third best of the year . An attendance record for a unique evening, confirming the artist's aura among his loyal audience.
