Letizia incognito: the Queen of Spain seen at IKEA

“It was amazing, Orson and I were standing in line at IKEA to pay, and suddenly I look in front of me and I say… But it’s… it’sThis is Doña Letizia!”

While strolling with her husband Orson Salazar in the aisles of a store owned by the famous Swedish furniture merchant, Andalusian actress and director Paz Vega came face to face with the Queen of Spain.

Man, Peace!”

But the anecdote does not end there. Letizia, in turn recognizing the celebrity, exclaimed: “Man, Peace!”which could be translated as “gosh! Paz!” The latter still can’t believe such a coincidence: “I didn’t believe it. The thing was to find Her Majesty there, shopping at IKEA. It seemed to me wonderful, wait a moment… And in the queue to pay It seemed incredible to me!”

It is unknown in which shopping center this “wonderful” scene took place precisely, but it is as part of the podcast Little is saidto which she had been invited, that she made this confidence.

Paz Vega, whose real name is Paz Campos Trigo, originally from Seville, is the daughter of a former bullfighter. She started her acting career with the series 7 Livesin 1997. Since then, she has played a series of roles in the cinema, both in Spain and in the United States. She has just started directing with Rita, a film which tells the daily life of a little girl and a boy in the 1980s, in Seville.

A gift card for Her Majesty

Among some secrets surrounding his new project, the artist mentioned this impromptu face-to-face meeting with the mother of Leonor and Sofia. The singer-comedian and influencer Xuso Jones, who hosts the podcast with his accomplice Ana Brito, then suggested offering a gift card to the queen, and “if necessary, closing the store for her.” To which Paz Vega immediately retorted: “I’m sure she wouldn’t want that, because she always passes by very discreetly…”

Indeed, this is not the first time that Letizia has visited a mainstream store or supermarket, often incognito, in a relaxed approach to her royal duties. It’s a way for her to stay in touch with ordinary Spanish citizens, outside of formal events.

We saw it like this at Zara Home or Massimo Dutti, among others. In these cases, a few agents watch over his safety, with great discretion. A testament to her accessible tastes, she recently sported an H&M outfit during a theater performance. However, it most often favors Spanish designers and national brands.
