first trailer for the 4th part of the comedy with Renée Zellweger

Renée Zellweger is back in a new sequel to the romantic comedy. She will opposite Hugh Grant.

Bridget Jones is back in a fourth film, still with Renée Zellweger in the lead role. The first trailer for the romantic comedy was revealed on Tuesday, November 12.

This new section, entitled Bridget Jones: Very lazyis inspired by the novel of the same name by Helen Fielding, the creator of the character. She also wrote the screenplay with Dan Mazer (Borat) and Abi Morgan (Shame the Steve McQueen).

“Bridget Jones is fifty years old and after the death of her husband, she gets back on the dating market,” announces the official synopsis. Colin Firth, who played her husband Mark Darcy, will therefore only appear in the form of a souvenir.

Hugh Grant returns

Hugh Grant, who played the Machiavellian Daniel Cleaver, will be back. At the center of the first two parts, the actor did not appear in the third film, released in 2016.

Emma Thompson, already in the credits of the third film, Bridget Jones Babycomes back, just like Jim Broadbent, who plays the heroine’s father. Chiwetel Ejiofor (Twelve Years a Slave) joins the cast.

The film is by Michael Morris, known for having directed episodes of the series Better Call Saul, Kingdom et 13 Reasons Why. Bridget Jones: Very lazy will be released in theaters on February 14.

Released in 2001, The Journal of Bridget Jones earned Renée Zellweger her first Oscar nomination. The saga, based on Helen Fielding’s bestselling books, has generated $760 million in revenue around the world.
