Yuksel Yakut recalls his ordeal, as well as that of his son, after the road accident where Pierre Palmade’s car hit that of this father in February 2023.
MISCELLANEOUS FACTS – “He made our lives hell. » A few days before the opening of a highly anticipated trial after the road accident caused by actor Pierre Palmade, one of the victims is now testifying openly about his physical and psychological after-effects which appeared after the fateful date of February 10, 2023 .
Invited to speak on the show Seven to EightYuksel Yakut is still having a hard time getting back to a normal life, almost two years after this event which changed his life and that of several of his loved ones. It was he who was at the wheel of the car which was hit by that of Pierre Palmade – under the influence of drugs – on departmental 372, near Villiers-en-Bière (Seine-et-Marne).
“Feels like my brain is going to explode”
Since then, he has lived with the trauma of this accident and a form of anger against the French comedian and actor. “ I had surgery on my stomach, shoulders, legs, feet”says this 38-year-old father. “ I have such intense pain that I am exhausted and feel like my brain is going to explode. »
Warned by doctors that he would have “after-effects”he begins to realize, almost two years after the tragedy, the extent of the consequences of the accident on his body. He thus explains that he no longer has “sensations on three fingers ”, not to mention the difficulties of getting around on a daily basis: “ When I walk, the patches in my legs cause me a lot of pain. Even to wash and walk, I have to ask my loved ones for help.”
In the car, Yuksel Yakut was not alone. His son and his sister-in-law were with him. The latter, aged 27 and six and a half months pregnant at the time of the dramatic accident, had lost her child after the collision.
“As soon as I got into the car – and I remember it very well since Mila was pregnant and my 6-year-old son was with us – I was particularly careful. We of course wore our seat belts. I was very careful, I drove slowly”he remembers in the minutes leading up to the accident.
What future for him and his son?
With a little hindsight, however, he seems helpless in the face of his situation. “ I don’t know what the future will be for my son and me. Will I be able to work again one day, will I stay in this state? I don’t know “he slips with difficulty in front of the TF1 cameras.
It must be said that his son, Devrim, was also seriously injured in the accident. His father mentioning the young boy’s difficulty in leaving home, handicapped by ” scars on his head” and who make him “permanently bad”. Il « can no longer stand the sun, the cold” et « has plaques in his mouth » that make every meal difficult. “ My son is not doing well at all”he adds, recalling that Devrim was forced to repeat his CE1, unable to concentrate and taken “panic attacks”.
Pierre Palmade « turned our lives into hell”ended up letting go of the man, a few days before the opening of the actor’s trial, prosecuted only for involuntary injuries. The qualification of manslaughter was not retained due to the age of the fetus at the time of its death.
“I only want one thing: for him to pay for what he did”now claims Yuksel Yakut against the celebrity who risks up to 14 years in prison in this case, judged in Melun from November 20.
