“It’s a world premiere”: nearly 1,600 music lovers for “The Magic Flute #2” by Jean-Christophe Spinosi, in

The public who, on November 8 and 9, flocked to the Palais des arts to discover season 2 of Mozart’s latest opera, “The Magic Flute”, presented by the Ensemble Matheus and conductor Jean -Christophe Spinosi, was not disappointed. Some were even dazzled in the audience. “This totally unexpected and astonishing sequel is the result of a long history spanning three centuries,” as Jean-Christophe Spinosi explained, despite a voice problem which made him speechless.

It was from fragments of a libretto by Goethe, who had undertaken to write a sequel to Mozart’s work, that the conductor had the idea of completing the saga of the adventures of Tamino, Pamina, Papageno and Sarastro, like a “series on Netflix, with instrumental music from the Viennese classical trio: Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven”, he underlined. “It’s a world first that the Vannes public has experienced. This is the first time that instrumental music has been “operated”,” added Jean-Christophe Spinosi. What a privilege for the approximately 1,600 music lovers who came to attend this show.https://op.letelegramme.fr/object-panel?from-prime&skey=%27%27#accordion-bottom-auteurs
