In Ploërmel, the Philomèle choir hosts a gathering around singing Monday November 11, 2024

We have a great dynamic around choral singing in Morbihan and . A map listing the choirs is being developed rejoices Catherine Aubert, one of the leaders of the Philomèle choir in Ploërmel (Morbihan), whose reputation, like those of Taupont and Malestroit, also in the north-east of the department, is well established. The association offers workshops for singing at all ages and operates in early childhood structures, media libraries, schools, and nursing homes or nursing homes (accommodation establishments for people elderly dependents).

“Winning in collegiality”

Building on this dynamic, Philomèle is organizing a “Chant’changes” day, Monday November 11, 2024, at the Cultural Center. This is one of the activities offered by the choral singing collective in Brittany. Launched in June 2020, then formed as an association in February 2021, in , it brings together all choirs wishing to participate (including from -Atlantique), whatever their style. All interested people, even individually, can also come and participate and why not sing.

The main objective of this day dedicated to choral singing in all its forms is to discuss how everyone practices it, to consider innovative collaborations. And thus modify the status of the association “to gain collegiality”, specify Catherine Aubert, Malvina Domar and Isabelle Jamin, both also presenters at Philomèle.

The program of the day

The day will begin at 9:30 a.m. with a welcome, then a singing performance by a choir director. Two workshops will be offered in the morning. All participants will follow them alternately. One is entitled “easy jazz in choir”, led by Pierre Dissert, choir director at the Vannes conservatory; the other, “popular song”, directed by Perrine Aterianus.

A presentation of the Choral Spring in Morbihan, which will take place from March to June 2025, is then planned. With the highlight of a choral opera in May, at the Palais des arts, with the Musicatreize choir from (Bouches-du-Rhône). Two rehearsals are planned in Josselin (Morbihan), on February 2, 2025 and March 23, 2025.

In the afternoon, two other workshops will be available this time: “the dance song of the land of Ploërmel”, with Catherine Aubert, and a coffee exchange whose theme is “Heating, what is it for? “. To conclude, a common song will be repeated.
