On the square at Nantes airport, travelers have noticed, since Tuesday, November 5, the presence of three giant bear cubs measuring two meters high, two of which are bickering on their base. After spending the entire summer in Saint-Malo, these creations by Michel Bassompierre announce the animal sculptor’s major exhibition in Vertou.
Seventeen monumental works
From Saturday November 16 to Sunday February 23, seventeen monumental works – bears but also gorillas or even an emperor penguin – will be presented in the heart of the town of Vertou, south of Nantes, in emblematic places such as Place Saint- Martin and the Chaussée-des-Moines.
A workshop of the artist, who lives in Vertou and has just exhibited in Monaco (before Park Avenue, in New York, in 2025), will be recreated at the Moulin Gautron, on the banks of the Sèvre. The airport bears will remain in place for the duration of the exhibition.
