a Lebanese restaurant has opened in the city center of Fougères

And new restaurant, The Lebanesehas just settled rue de la Forêt, in Fougeres (Ille-et-Vilaine)in the former premises of Pap’s food.

In Partouche casinos

Co-manager with his partner, Sylva Barq, Mohamad Daibes arrived in in 2002, in . “I stayed there for twelve years and I did restoration in many festivals in such as Étonnants voyageurs or Vieilles Charrues,” he says.

Hired by the Partouche casinos, the restaurateur left for the south where he learned French cooking techniques with a star chef. “I toured their casinos in France and I met my wife in the Vosges.”

The couple started a business in Anjou and ran a Lebanese restaurant there for a year and a half before deciding to return to Brittany, “a region that I love and where I have many friends. The previous owner of Pap’s helped us a lot.”

Homemade cooking

In Lebanese, “Sousou” and “Momo” offer homemade Lebanese cuisine with fresh produce.

We also kept a few tacos and burgers to take away, and we made three Lebanese sandwiches: the Falafel, the Chiche Tawouk with marinated chicken and pita bread and the Kafta made with ground beef and Lebanese spices.

The menu also includes cold starters (hummus, tabbouleh, etc.), hot starters (like falafel), grilled meats and a vegetarian plate.

For dessert, a pistachio flan with orange blossom syrup and honey as well as baklavas (oriental pastries) are available. “Our flagship product is the discovery menu to share, with an assortment of starters and a platter of mixed grills,” underlines Mohamad Daibes, who announces the establishment of a dish of the dayin December.

Very attached to his culture, the restaurateur is keen to introduce Lebanese cuisine to Bretons: “Our country is going through very difficult times and we want to share our Lebanon”.
