The 30e edition of the Cinemania French-speaking Film Festival opened Wednesday evening at the Monument-National with the Montreal premiere of Shepherdsthe new feature film from director Sophie Deraspe. Several personalities from the Quebec cinema world walked the red carpet for the occasion.
Adapted from the novel Where are you from, shepherd?de Mathyas Lefebure, Shepherds stars Félix-Antoine Duval in the role of a young Montreal advertising executive who decides to drop everything to experience life as a shepherd in Provence. The feature film received the prestigious award for best Canadian film at the most recent Toronto Film Festival last September. Shepherds will be on display throughout Quebec on November 15. As for the Cinemania festival, it takes place until November 17 in several theaters in Montreal.
