The singer and actor is very moved by the disappearance, at the age of 56, of his friend, the Quebec host and journalist of Haitian origin, Herby Moreau, who died on November 3.
“Herby… Herby Moreau… I can’t believe I’m writing these words…” the singer of Break your voice by beginning a moving tribute to the memory of his deceased friend.
“You have been there from the beginning, since my very first day in Montreal. You were part of all the important moments, so many firsts, so many red carpets, so many surprises… so much daring!” he recalls.
Patrick Bruel highlights the talent of the passionate journalist, a great figure in the cultural world in Quebec, who studied journalism at the Lille higher school of journalism. He also remembers the laughter of the person who interviewed stars from around the world, notably at the Oscars or the Cannes Film Festival.
“You knew how to make us laugh, give us confidence, in a few words, make artists shine because that was your gift,” writes Patrick Bruel. Your work was above all your passion, your life. Thank you for this loyalty, this complicity, this respect and above all our bursts of laughter!”
Accompanying his message with photos where we see them both smiling and very complicit, the singer of Place des grands hommes concludes: “You leave a big void… but also your mark. All my thoughts for your son, your mother, your family and your many friends. Thank you for everything.”
Known for his tenacity, Herby Moreau was also known because he knew how to make those he interviewed feel comfortable. And there are many in Canada who mourn him.
