Like every year, the month of November honors the documentary films through the cultural event, the month of the doc.
On this occasion, it is 51 films documentaries and audio which will be projected in a fifty municipalities of Morbihan. The vast majority of films will be screened for free in the media libraries of the municipalities participating in the project. Some documentaries will be screened in cinemas or within associations and educational establishments.
An association, support of the project
Cinscreen is the association that coordinates, national projectin the territory of Morbihan for around ten years. Through this cultural project, the association wishes to make more accessible cinema as well as create a link thanks to the meetings organized following the screening of the documentaries. Each screening is followed by a exchange with the director, a member of the film crew or an external participant.
We want to deploy across the entire territory. To do this, we work with different structures in several municipalities. The structures know their audience, so they are the ones who choose the documentary that will be broadcast from the selection that we send to them.
The sound documentary, a novelty
The 25th edition of the month of the doc will be marked by the highlighting of a sound documentarya novelty in programming. This year, it’s the sound documentary Rapa Nui by Sophie Berger, an adopted Breton living near Valves which will be on display. This sound piece is a immersion auditive on Easter Island, discovering the sounds of nature, all accompanied by the testimony of a resident.
The sound pieces that I create are like journeys to listen to. The sounds tell the story like a film. I record the voices as confidences, it is not an interview. The voice and sounds of the landscapes are an immersion on the island of Rapa Nui.
The first sound documentary will be broadcast Tuesday November 5, 2024 from 8 p.m. in Séné, at the cultural center Grain of salt. The screening will be followed by an exchange with the director. Other screenings are planned in Saint-Avé, Lorient and Saint Dolay.
